Technical Accounting Manager
Overview:
Our client is a global Fortune 500 retail company with locations in a large number of cities across the globe and they’re seeking to hire a Technical Accounting Manager to join their growing team. This company has a well-established reputation in the industry and is known for their exceptional compensation and benefits packages offered to their employees.
In this role, you will ensure the Company’s compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules and regulations, ensure high level of quality in Company’s implementation and maintenance of research and reporting infrastructure, and assist with financial analysis to enhance financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and executing the month end close process.
- Review the monthly profit and loss statements; verify accuracy of the accounting entries.
- Monitor and review the Company’s accounting policies and verify they are in compliance with GAAP.
- Review account reconciliations to verify compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Extensive involvement with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance team; review and complete compliance certification of accounting procedures.
- Supervise and manage a team of 5-6 Senior Accountants and 20+ Staff Accountants.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
- Six or more years of Accounting/General Ledger experience.
- Experience in planning and executing a month-end closing process for a large company.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and the ability to research complex accounting literature and complete technical analysis with a thorough level of documentation.
- Excellent audit and financial accounting experience, prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills are essential, with the demonstrated ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the global organization.
- CPA designation is strongly preferred.
