Our client is a Houston-based investment firm focused on opportunistic energy investments in North America and they’re looking to hire a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to support their team from an accounting and finance perspective. Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly close activities including account reconciliations, flux analyses, and preparation of journal entries.
  • Monitor cash management.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, recording and documentation of P&L.
  • Maintain master coding in General Ledger.
  • Update monthly account schedules and ensure records are up to date.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the parent entity and their joint venture in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Actively manage and assist with reporting requirements of borrowing entity on behalf of the Joint Venture to ensure compliance.
  • Lead in analyzing certain balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Develop processes, drive continuous improvement, coordinate requirements upstream and downstream in the organization.
  • Develop and manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports that provide insight to day-to-day operations and period ending results.
  • Assist in the development of long-range financial forecasts, financial portions of the annual strategic plan and related budgets.
  • Develop solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and investor needs.
  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external investors.
  • Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Work independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience (public accounting experience is a plus)
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Familiarity with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and Ogsys strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently or in a team format, depending on the nature of duties, including working with other functional areas of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
