Our client is an international multi-billion-dollar management consulting firm with over 75 office locations spread across 6 different continents and 34 different countries globally. The firm has an impressive and broad client roster including AmLaw 100 law firms and Fortune Global 500 (over half of the Fortune 100) companies, numerous private equity firms as well as the FTSE 100, the S&P 500, and 21 of 30 of the global SIFI banks.

    One of the firm’s largest divisions is looking for strong professionals to grow their practice at the manager and director levels, specifically within the energy sector. This division helps CFOs in making critical decisions that directly impact the success of their business. Broadly, the services they provide for their clients include advisory, project management and interim service, as well as supporting critical finance transformation and performance improvement activities

    The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in many of the following areas:

    • Full-cycle accounting and finance processes and performance improvement (i.e., Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Invoice to Cash)
    • Finance and accounting functional effectiveness
    • Cost management
    • Financial planning and analysis
    • Merger, acquisition and divestiture support
    • Internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
    • SEC Reporting
    • Supporting external audit processes
    • Treasury management
    • Accounting remediation

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Assist in the planning and execution project phases, and supervise others as necessary to ensure the following: coordinating work efforts with the client; completion of defined deliverables; adherence to project milestones and timelines; communication of progress to all parties (internal and external); and managing team members, as necessary
    • Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues
    • Determine client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches
    • Evaluate and validate analysis and develop recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement
    • Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables
    • Effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance
    • Participate in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA required
    • 3-15 years of relevant consulting, public accounting or industry experience (title depends on years of experience)
    • Big Four public accounting experience a plus
    • Oil and gas experience required
    • Strong knowledge and application of GAAP
    • Strong finance related and ERP software skills
    • Systems implementation/integration experience is highly desirable
    • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint)
    • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
    • Comfortable with travel (up to 50% depending on client/project needs); likely will be all local travel if based out of Houston

    Titles Based on Years of Experience:

    • Analyst: Entry Level
    • Consultant: 3+ years of relevant experience
    • Manager: 5+ years of relevant experience
    • Director: 7-8+ years of relevant experience
    • Senior Director: 10-13+ years of relevant experience
    • Partner/Managing Director: 13+ years of relevant experience
